Financial Plan and Rate Study
In July 2017, Summerland Sanitary District contracted with the financial consultant firm Raftelis to prepare a comprehensive sanitary sewer rate study. This rate study was completed and presented to the Board of Directors on December 14, 2017. The Board of Directors have determined that it is necessary to adjust the service charge by 3.5% for next fiscal year and 3.5% annually for each ensuing 4-years. These modest sewer service charge rate increases will ensure the current level of service, as well as moving forward with treatment plant and infrastructure replacement projects.
The rates were developed through a Comprehensive Wastewater Financial Plan and Rate Study designed to meet all legal requirements and fairly and equitably recover the required revenue from all customer classes. To review the copy of the Financial Plan and Rate Study please click here.
The table below shows the rate adjustments passed on February 8, 2018. These rates would become effective on July 1, 2018 and each year through June 2023.
